Role Play And Story Rules
June 8th, 2006
June 8th, 2006
General
1. Please write in role play style. For any questions look into the thread Whats Role Play ?? or ask one of the moderators. If you want to write something out of character, write it in the Discussion thread of that RP or please write an ooc: before you write anything. Ooc means simply out of character. Please look in this thread it's specially when you just started for you a good place to get some idea, what's going on in this part of the board.
2. Each writing will be written in context and shall be readable for all eyes, no foul language (swearing) and no written sex or nudity. Anyone who breaks this rule will be subject for their account being banned.
3. The forum moderator has full authorisation to edit a post or to change a post if the post is not appropriate or in the wrong topic. The author of the post will be notified that this has been done.
4. If the post is not laid out correctly the author of the post will be notified how long they have to change the post to the correct format. If you are online you will be given 3 hr to change the post if you are not online you will be given 24 hrs to change the post to the correct format. This rule is subject to change.
Role Play Rules
1. When you make a thread you need to set the rules; what can a character do and what not. Also you MUST tell when you start a thread, what the min. number of words is. (most people use 150). Al the post underneath this word count will be seen as spam, and there for warned.
2. In this board only “In Game Characters” are allowed to be used. This means that you are not allowed to post random posts saying, for example,
“Hi Bob, how are you? I’m fine, what you up to today? I went to school. What’s everyone else up to?”
That is called ‘real life’ and not allowed. “In Game Characters” talk would be, for example.”
:: Fireclown Angel enters the Tavern, the doors swing wide and his cloak bellows, most people turn, then realise that it’s just another dramatic emperor thinking he’s important. He walks over to the bar and slams his fist on the edge. ::
Fireclown Angel: Bar-Keep, bring me an Ale.
:: The man behind the bar approaches, picks a glass from under the bar and slowly fills it. Fireclown Angel notices one of his alliance members, Jalna. Not a favourite person of his, he ignores her, the barman gives Fireclown the drink and he pays. ::
This portrays the actions of the character and the speech of the character.
2.1 The use of ":: ::" is not needed, but it makes it easyer to read for people.
3. You may use Non Player characters, as I have done for a Bar keep. If this character is going to speak, as explained before, name of the character and then a colon then a space then the speech text. Please be careful when using a Non player characters. NPC (Non Player Characters) can become confusing if they have the same name and make sure that a NPC is accessible for your characters use, or your posts use.
e.g. Bob asks for a drink and talks to the barman for 30 mins about his battles of ravaging a planet
Tim asks the barman for a drink and the barman gets him a drink.
Tim cannot get the drink because the barman is talking to another customer, therefore the NPC is non accessible.
4. You may not use another person’s character or personal NPC without their permission, unless you are replying to a post previous. Even though you are replying to a previous post you cannot act on another person’s behalf and say what their character or Personal NPC is doing or saying, unless you have their permission.
4.1 A personal NPC is a character than is associated to someone’s player character or a NPC they have created themselves to drive a topic onwards.
5. Each post must consist of at least the min. words told in the beginning of a thread. If the post does not consist of at least this number of words the post will be deleted. This is to stop spam being entered into the topic and single lines of text (spam).
